In this Ted talk Aimee Mullins discusses how beauty is this constructed lifestyle, that can be beautiful in its own right. There is definitely some overall unique possibilities from her presentation and that if life gives you a disability you might as well make a positive out of a negative. She does it in way that makes me feel that beauty can be constructed and that things can be brought into light out of a situation. The brightest part about it is that society as a whole can make a situation like this into a good thing. We as society might make this into something that is not entirely politically correct. We make judgments as people and as a society we harshly look at people with these different disabilities. There is no other way we can quite see people with these disabilities and it's just something our eye picks up as people. But to make our eyes pick up something beautiful out of these disabilities to me is something great and powerful. People can make beauty and construct it to please the eye in a fantastic way, without distorting our view of the world. People might think that constructing such things as beauty in a harsh way because it distorts reality and there isn't a bright side to the fact that we can distort reality and bring joy to our hearts. But without joy within ourselves, we can't enjoy life to the fullest. And sometimes the most important the thing to do is just bring a happiness to an atmosphere even if it is totally constructed and fake.
